Warehouse Operators are responsible for working with customer specifications of packaging and material handling equipment, including coil scale, coil marker, ID and OD banding units, paper dispensing units, packaging cranes, and printers. They will also perform duties related to receiving substrate, shipping coated coils by truck and rail, and other associated warehouse activity.  The applicant must possess strong communication skills, support a culture of safety and environmental compliance with safe operating procedures and practices, and support continuous improvement.

  • Performs work in compliance with safe operating procedures and practices including safe operation of all assigned tools and equipment, proper lockout/tryout of all energy sources to production equipment and systems being worked on, and proper use of required personal protection equipment (PPE).     Responsibilities include active participation in safety and other miscellaneous training and inspection of cranes and powered mobile equipment as required.  
  • Complies with all environmental management requirements including proper separation and disposal of waste materials.  As required, incumbents move hazardous waste from point of generation to accumulation container as necessary during course of normal repair and maintenance duties.  Maintains familiarity with hazardous waste definitions and procedures and accumulation area management requirements.
  • Inspects coated coils prior to packaging.
  • Operates and monitors delivery coil scale.
  • Operates Nematron computer, coil ID banding unit, walking beam conveyers and transfer cars, paper dispensing unit and packaging crane(s).
  • Wraps coils with paper or shrink film and places pad inserts and banding to customer specifications.
  • Prints coil tags on computer and applies required stickers and labels to wrapped coils.
  • Utilizes Level 1, 2, and 3 computer systems as necessary to perform job.
  • Replaces banding materials, paper dispenser rolls, cardboard and other packaging inserts and materials.
  • Operates forklift.
  • Loads and unloads rail cars and trucks using radio remote controlled cranes.
  • Visually inspects and accepts/rejects substrate coils received by rail or truck in accordance with PRO-TEC standards.
  • Uses LXE scanner to verify coil I.D. and processes coils into Automated Crane Warehouse Systems (ACWS) following proper inspection.
  • Loads coils on trucks and rail cars using ACWS, verifying coils I.D. tags with load paperwork.
  • Secures coils in rail cars in preparation for shipment.
  • Releases empty and reloaded rail cars.
  • Operates Trackmobile to reposition rail cars after verifying position of rail car valves, handbrakes, derailers, switches, and personnel.
  • Maintains housekeeping and performs other related tasks assigned.
  • The ability to work the 12-hour, swing shift rotation is considered an essential function of this position.


This position requires the ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift, walk intermittently, stand, climb, bend, stoop, and moderate lift for short periods of time. Good hand-eye coordination and visual acuity. Position also requires the ability to climb stairs and ladders, walk throughout the large facility, and withstand varying extreme weather conditions while working within the facility. May be required to work on high, elevated platforms.


Candidates must be at least 18 years of age to apply. Candidates must also be willing to participate in pre-employment testing and screening.


High School diploma or the equivalent


Forklift (will train); valid driver's license


Work 48/36 hours per week.  Rotating 12-hour shifts (7-7), with 7 days off in a row every 28 days.


  • Earning potential over $4,700/month ($27.28/hourly equivalent) and over $950/month towards your retirement and benefits allocation.
  • Base salary is $3,960/month
  • Overtime built-in by working scheduled shift is ~$594/month
  • Shift premium when working nights ~$173.34/month ($2.00/hour on nights)

Accounting Specialist (Accounts Payable)

Incumbent performs a variety of administrative support tasks specific to his/her area of responsibility and is cross-trained to perform related tasks in backup role for other positions in the Accounting Department. In general, incumbent facilitates the processing of accounts payable transactions and related vendor payments.


  • Observes all safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Reviews and verify the accuracy of all internal Accounts Payable invoices. Invoices are matched against the corresponding supporting documentation (purchase order, receiving report, etc.) to ensure all items are properly approved.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to the Procurement Policies & Procedures manual.
  • Enters all appropriate information into the Accounts Payable and MP2 systems. Reconcile various reports daily and monthly to ensure information has been entered and uploaded into the systems accurately.
  • Responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and assisting with the month-end closing process.
  • Cross trains with other positions within the department.
  • Performs other miscellaneous support functions and will assist with various special projects and assignments as required.


Responsible for supervising interns and part-time Associates as it relates to incumbent’s work responsibilities

SAFETY ENGINEER

Incumbent will be responsible for building on an already successful safety program, with

emphasis on expanding individual participation and process ownership. They will serve in the

capacity of technical resource, internal consultant and trainer, as well as being responsible for

initiating and administering safety and industrial hygiene policy and procedures and ensuring

PRO-TEC’s compliance with all related laws, standards and mandates.


  • Establishes, modifies, and refines policies and procedures to insure a safe operating environment in compliance with OSHA and other enforcement agency requirements.
  •  Serves as contact for safety compliance matters with responsible government agencies including state and federal OSHA, Ohio BWC, etc.
  • Assures all mandated reporting and records are maintained in accordance with individual agency, utility, and insurance provider requirements.  This includes recording of occupational injury and illness, training, discipline, medical histories, environmental and noise data, etc.
  • Enforces Associate, company, and contractor compliance with safety and health and hygiene policies.  Takes corrective action and/or reports compliance lapses/failures to management for corrective action.
  • Facilitates or personally conducts required safety communications and necessary safety training as assigned of all PRO-TEC Associates, temporaries, and as necessary, contractor employees.  This includes initial training for new Associates, mandated annual training, contractor briefings, weekly safety briefings, and observations, etc.
  • Develops presentations, presentation materials, and schedules.  Identifies and contracts with qualified outside trainers.  Collaborates with others in the EHS Department to coordinate response simulation training with EMS, Fire Department, and PRO-TEC Environmental Engineer for plant emergencies including injuries, evacuation/fires, and spills.
  • Facilitates team building and team development.
  • Facilitates active Associate involvement in and ownership of health and safety programs through involvement of Safety Committee, the EMT squad, ERT squad, participation on project teams, recognition of performance, etc.
  • Interfaces with others in the EHS Department on fire protection systems.
  • Responsible for safety equipment including selection to conform to OSHA standards, purchase, storage, distribution, assigning of accountability, calibration, periodic maintenance, and mandated inspections.
  • Responsible for purchase and placement of all safety signs and notices in conformance with OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible for incident investigations and documentation, including establishment and revision of procedures, training, and enforcements.
  • Responsible for machine guarding and access control to hazardous areas.
  • Coordinates industrial health and hygiene activities including periodic monitoring of noise levels and individual time weighted exposures, air quality monitoring/measurement of contaminates, scheduling of annual hearing checks and physical exams, compliance with Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, maintenance of MSDS/Right to Know, and Laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan. 
  • Stays current on all government activities related to regulatory compliance.


  • No direct reports. Jointly supervises EHS Interns when assigned.
  • Delegates work to others in the department as needed.
